One of the most visited sites in the world, the Eiffel Tower is a wrought-iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France and is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the iconic tower. Its popularity can be judged by the fact that even actor Hina Khan, who made her debut at Cannes 2019 this year, made it a point to go click a selfie with her boyfriend in front of the monument before heading for the French Riviera.

While couples for hundreds of years have gone to iconic Eiffel for a romantic moment or dinner (the monument has two restaurants) and others to revel at the sheer beauty and magnanimity of the 1,063 feet tower, if you think it is too mundane, you can now take a zipline ride off the Eiffel Tower!

Sounds Crazy?

A move that began on May 31, visitors to the iconic monument can now take the faster way down. A zipline attached from the iconic monument allows thrill seekers to travel across the Champs de Mars to the 19th-century complex of Ecole Militaire in just 60 seconds.

Set up by the French mineral water brand Perrier to celebrate the French Open and 130 years of the Eiffel Tower, the ride covers a distance of 800 metres at the speed of 90 kilometer per hour.

Wondering How Much That Costs?

Well it turns out that it costs nothing at all! But, there is a catch. The opportunity to ride the zipline is available to thrill-seekers by an online lottery on social media and a select few might also get a chance through an on-spot drawing. The ride itself is available until June 2.

However, if Eiffel Tower is not your thing, you can zipline across places in Costa Rica (Arenal Volcano); New Zealand (Waiheke Island), Puerto Rico (Orocovis) and Haiti (Labadee) as well.
