In an interview, J-Hope, a member of the boy band shared that the name, Bangtan Sonyeondan is linked to the team's desire to block out all stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that target teens like bullets.
When Was BTS Formed?
BTS was formed in the year 2010. However, they made their debut in the year 2013 on June 12th under the Big Hit Entertainment music label with the track 2 Cool 4 Skool. Originally, BTS was a hip hop group but with time, they experimented with many genres.

BTS has many awards and accolades to its name. Ever since 2018, BTS made it to the nominations of many revered music awards. To begin with, they won multiple categories at the American Music Awards from 2018 to 2022.
They have also won awards under the Billboard Music Awards as a group and for their top-selling songs 'Dynamite' and 'Butter'. The list is endless! Among the many milestones is their Grammy award nomination, being the first Korean pop band to get there, and also being the first Korean band to be nominated for a Brit award.

In the month of June, Jung Kook announced his solo song, 'Seven' which was released in July. Jin and J-Hope have already enlisted and are serving in the military. By the end of this year, all the other BTS members, Suga, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook will get enlisted and serve for 18 months before they turn 28. For BTS, the South Korean government increased the age to 30.
