Shilpa Shetty is widely known for her interest in personal wellness. She actively practices yoga and often shares videos and images on Instagram to inspire people to stay healthy. On her YouTube channel, she shares recipes for healthy dishes, and through her fitness app, she teaches her followers how to achieve a toned body.

Here are some of her at-home exercises that everyone can practice to stay fit and healthy.

Gatyatmak Eka Pada Uttanasana Pawanmuktasana

This is a core-strengthening workout routine that has many health benefits. It strengthens the muscles of the thighs, shoulders, and arms. In the first part, she is lying flat on the ground and moving her hands along with her legs. As the legs go forward, the hand goes backwards.

In the second position, she is holding her legs at 60° and extending her hands. The third phase involves holding the previous position but flapping your hands up and down like a bird.

Lunges and Push-Ups

Shetty did this one on an empty bus, you can do it at home with the support of a railing. Hold a pipe or put your hands flat on the wall and do push-ups.

The second one you can do on your balcony. Hold the railing, bend one leg, and stretch the other. Repeat the same with the other, and you will be able to do lunges.

Gatyatmak Anjaneyasana and Baddha Trikonasana

In the above videos, Shetty was spotted exercising in her backyard. In the first position, she puts all her weight on one leg and stretches the other. Then, she goes on to sit on the other and stretch the previous one.

Next she is seen stretching her legs wide, bending and holding the position by locking her hands. This combination helps to improve balance, hip flexors and flexibility. It also helps with the strengthening of the legs.

Surya Namaskar

Surya Namaskar is one of the few exercises anyone can do in the comfort of their home. It improves core and shoulder strength and is one of the best ways to warm up and stretch your body before an intense workout session. You have to follow a series of steps to complete the whole yogasana. You can watch the above video of Shetty for guidance.

Squats

If anyone knows a fun way to motivate and enjoy a workout session with squats, it is Shilpa Shetty. Squatting with coordination of hands and legs improves agility of the body and helps achieve toned legs.

As she squats in the above video, she crosses her hands in the middle. When her body relaxes, her arms go up in the air. You can do it at your pace.

Toe Touches

This is an exercise that exerts a lot of pressure on the belly. It builds agility and strength (weight training for beginners). You have to lie on the floor straight and slowly raise your legs perpendicular to the ground.

Hold the position and try to touch your toes like Shetty is doing in the above video. You might not be able to do it fully on the first attempt, but continuous practice will help you achieve flexibility. A tougher version of this is to hold your legs at 60° and try to touch your toes.
