Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on 6th February 2022. She was 92. The singer was hospitalised in January after she got infected with COVID-19 and was discharged after her health was stable. However, in the month of February, her health deteriorated again and she was rushed to the hospital.
The entire nation is mourning the loss of Lata Mangeshkar, calling it the end of an era. Through her almost 8 decades long journey in Indian cinema, Lata Mangeshkar sang over 25,000 songs in 36 languages including regional Indian languages and foreign languages.

In the year 2020 as per a report by News18, Lata Mangeshkar revealed that she never listened to her own songs after recording them because she thought she will end up finding mistakes in them. In an interview with The Hindu, she said, “Never! I never listen to my songs. If I did, I’d find a hundred mistakes in my singing. Even in the past, once I finished recording a song I was done with it.”
“If at all I listen to them, I feel I could have done so much better, applied my creative mind, given it a higher rendition,” she added. Clearly, Lata Mangeshkar wanted every song to be better than all her previous songs.

- Do you know Lata Mangeshkar once fainted while recording a song with music composer Naushad? It was a hot summer afternoon in Mumbai and the ceiling fan was off.
