Talk & Listen
The most valuable support you can provide is just being there to talk and listen. Making time for them makes them feel that they are not alone in their battle for mental health. Mental health problems can be very crippling for a person's physical health also.
Acknowledgement
Acknowledging your friend’s problems, accepting them and treating them with compassion is important. Your presence is the most important for your friends fighting this battle against their mental health.
Activities
Plan activities to do together whether yoga, meditation, or playing a sport as maybe outsiders overwhelm them at this time so your exclusive time with them doing an activity which they enjoy will make them feel distracted & at ease.

Professional Help
Take them to therapy or encourage them to take professional help because sometimes what you suggest or you feel is beyond their understanding, help them by booking their sessions or accompanying them if they feel lonely.
Support In Daily Life
Helping them in their daily chores like maintaining their home, and helping them in their basic duties with their family can also help them as they might not be in a condition to handle their daily work themselves.

Be Calm
However, I feel that the most important in helping a friend struggling with their mental health is that you remain calm & composed. It’s very important to take care of your mental health while helping others.
You need to take breaks, draw clear boundaries of how much you can help & keep someone in the loop that you are extending this help to keep your friends feeling confident. As a friend, you should try not to break down your balance as that also affects the quality of your friendship.
