How To Make Tandoori Roti On A Tawa?

  1. Begin with kneading the dough. To make the dough super soft, you need to add curd to your regular wheat or atta.
  2. Add atta and curd and combine well. Keep adding water to the bowl and knead the dough.
  3. Next, add some oil to the dough and knead again.
  4. After kneading the dough, spread some more oil on the top.
  5. Cover the bowl with a cloth or plastic wrap and keep for 1 hour.
  6. Take a small ball size portion, dust some flour and start to roll.
  7. Make sure you roll a thick roti or else it can stick to the tawa, making it difficult for you to cook a tandoori roti.
  8. Next, spread some water on the roti evenly.
  9. Place the roti on the top of tawa.
  10. Let it puff up and then flip it over the flame and cook evenly.
  11. Scrape the sides of the roti using a knife or scraper.
  12. Spread ghee or butter on the roti. You can also add garnish like white sesame seeds or coriander leaves if you like. Serve hot.
