Emotional growth is the journey that you take to understand, discover, and embrace yourself and others around you. We all prefer working on developing our social skills, communication, and other such aspects to grow professionally. However, it is equally important to do such things to nurture your emotional quotient as well.
Emotional growth is a never-ending journey, full of rollercoasters and sometimes inconsistency. However, if you are willing to develop your emotional sides, here are some healthy habits you must adopt as suggested by our counselling psychology expert Atreyee Das.
Embracing Your Emotions
Humans are complex beings with a wide range of emotions. From simple emotions like happiness and sadness to more difficult ones like regret and jealousy, we feel it all. However, make sure to accept whatever you feel with open arms. Feel sad, happy, ecstatic, or however you want to. None of your feelings are invalid. “If you are feeling it, it is valid,” says the expert.
Communicating Inside Out
Even though it sounds very basic, it is essential to communicate (Tips To Enhance Communication Skills). Learn to communicate with others to understand the underlying issues and get them resolved, no matter how hard it is. Moreover, sit and talk to yourself alone, and openly to accept how you are feeling about a certain situation in your life. Be it a difficult confession, make sure you say it yourself.
Simp Over Yourself
It is very easy to compliment someone you find beautiful. Why not do that for yourself? Sit in front of a mirror, look at your face and give yourself a bucketful of compliments (Sexist Comments That Sound Like Compliments). Tell yourself every day how strong you are for holding on. Fall in love once again but this with yourself.

Say No To Comparison
“No two rocks are exactly the same and no two humans are exactly identical; then why compare?” says Atreyee Das. Every human has a different journey, and ability to perceive things. Therefore, one must not compare themselves to others. Your life may weigh on one side more than someone else. Always count your blessings.
Learn The Duality Of A Situation
We all think that we are the main character of a story and others are the supporting characters. However, they all have their own stories and understanding that about others can take you a step closer to understanding yourself as well. Do not judge others as we only see what they choose to show us; there is always more to someone that goes veiled.
