The fall has begun, and soon, the nights will start turning a little cold, giving a message of the onset of the winter season. The harsh winds and low temperatures not only affect the skin but also the scalp and hair. Many people witness hair fall in this season which often leads them to worry about going bald or receding hairline.

If it is seasonal, and you are not battling with underlying issues, you can reduce hair fall by making a few modifications in your diet and trying home remedies. However, you have to start now so that when the weather gets harsh, your locks can withstand it.

Dr Dixa Bhavsar Savaliya, Ayurvedic Expert and Co-founder, The Kadamba Tree, shared a reel on her Instagram to make people aware of the benefits of ingredients found in the kitchen and home garden.

Curry Leaves (How To Use Curry Leaves For Hair Fall?)

The first thing you have to do is start consuming at least 5-7 curry leaves every day. You can add them to your dishes like poha, upma, etc. Not only these leaves are known to improve haemoglobin levels, but also help with regulating blood sugar levels, building insulin resistance, and delaying premature greying of hair.

However, you must note that bitter neem leaves have more medicinal properties. You can boil a handful of leaves in water and use it to wash your hair. It helps with treating dandruff too. You can boil 5-7 curry leaves in a cup of water, strain it, and enjoy the tea.

Sesame Seed Oil (Does Sesame Oil Stop Hair Fall?)

Sesame seed oil has many health benefits. It is loaded with antioxidants, controls blood sugar levels, benefits the heart, and strengthens joints, hair, and skin. Dr Savaliya said that you can consume sesame seed oil as it is, but there are other ways to include it in your diet.

The first way is to soak a teaspoon of sesame seeds overnight and consume them first thing in the morning. You can also mix them with curry leaves tea to extract maximum benefits from the ingredients.

The second way is to roast a teaspoon of sesame seeds and consume them after meals or with snacks. You can also sprinkle them on the salad or a dish to add toastie flavour and crunch to it.

The last method is to add toasted sesame seeds or oil to homemade ladoos. When making ladoo, chikki, or other sweet dishes at home, you should add jaggery instead of sugar and consume them every day in the winter season.

Dr Savaliya suggested applying two drops of cow ghee inside each nostril. This process is called Nysa. It is supposed to reduce hair fall and has other benefits for your health, including treating the common cold and improving breathing.

The expert suggested heating the ghee until it is liquid and lukewarm. You should take two drops in your fingers and add the ghee (Ghee For Constipation) to your nostrils before bedtime. My grandmother does this during winter, and I started doing it last year. It is quite helpful.
