We often have a bowl of leftover rice waiting in the refrigerator to be eaten. However, the dilemma of what to eat it with never end. Therefore, we bring you quick fried rice recipes that will help you satiate your taste buds with a burst of flavours.

Schezwan Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Tablespoon Ginger
  • 1.5 Tablespoon Oil
  • 1 Medium Chopped Onion
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon Red Chilli Paste
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1.5 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Vinegar
  • Salt To Taste
  • Chopped Vegetables
  • 1 Tablespoon Schezwan Sauce
  • Spring Onion

Method

  • In a pan, heat the oil, then add ginger and garlic.
  • Add chopped onion and sauté until they are translucent.
  • Add red chilli paste, schezwan sauce, vinegar, soy sauce and sugar.
  • Mix everything well and add chopped vegetables like carrot, corn kernels, capsicum, etc.
  • Sauté everything and add leftover rice.
  • Gently cook the rice with vegetables and sauces to ensure that the grains do not break.
  • Mix well, garnish with spring onion, and enjoy your schezwan rice hot.

Egg Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Tablespoon Ginger
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon Soya Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Spring Onion
  • Salt To Taste
  • Chopped Vegetables - Cabbage, Carrots and Capsicum
  • 1 Tablespoon Schezwan Sauce

Method

  • In a heated pan, add oil, ginger, and garlic.
  • Add spring onion and stir them.
  • Add chopped vegetables and cook them on high flame for about 10 minutes.
  • Add two eggs and mix them with vegetables.
  • Add schezwan and soya sauce to the vegetables and eggs.
  • Add cold rice and mix everything.
  • Serve it hot with some spring onion garnish.

Burnt Garlic Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Spring Onion
  • Chopped Vegetables - Carrots, Capsicum, French Beans and Corn Kernels
  • 1.5 Tablespoon Garlic
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Oil
  • Salt To Taste
  • 2 Chopped Green Chillies
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon Soy Sauce

Method

  • Heat a pan with a tablespoon of oil in it.
  • Add garlic and toss it until it turns brown. Take some out for garnishing at the end.
  • Add spring onion and vegetables to the pan.
  • Cook them and add salt to taste.
  • Add a teaspoon of soy sauce, red chilli powder and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.
  • Mix everything and add rice.
  • Toss rice grains gently until everything comes together.
  • Garnish with brown garlic and spring onions before serving hot.

Non-Spicy Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 Medium Chopped Onion
  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger
  • 1/2 Cup Spring Onion
  • Chopped Vegetables - Carrots, Cabbage, Corn Kernels, French Beans, Mushroom and Capsicum
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Oil
  • Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper

Method

  • Take a pan and heat the oil in it.
  • Add ginger, garlic, red onion, and spring onion. Sauté until onions become translucent.
  • Add vegetables and salt to taste.
  • Once the veggies are almost done, add black pepper and red chilli powder.
  • Add rice and mix everything.
  • Serve this delicious non-spicy dish to your kids.
