Good news for Don franchise fans! Actor and Director, Farhan Akhtar recently took to his Instagram and announced Don 3 in the making. With this social media post, Akhtar also cleared the exit of Shah Rukh Khan who played the titular role in the Don reboot series which was previously portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan.
For the unversed, popular screenwriting duo, Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar created the character Don who was played by veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan in the year 1978. In the year 2006, a sequel of the same movie made it to the theatres. For the reboot series, King Khan stepped into the shoes of Amitabh Bachchan. In the year 2011, the second installment of the series, Don 2 was released. Both the installments of the reboot series got immense love from theatregoers.
Kiara Advani To Play Female Lead In Don 3
Since the announcement of Don 3, fans have anxiously awaited news of the release date and a sneak peek into the project. The film stirred discussions, especially when it was revealed that Ranveer Singh, not Shah Rukh Khan, would star in the third instalment. Recently, the film grabbed headlines once more as the makers teased a significant revelation. Now, the much-anticipated announcement has arrived, unveiling Kiara Advani as the leading lady.

Now the makers are all set to take the Don legacy forward. Farhan Akhtar's post mentioned that an actor whose talent and versatility he has long admired will be taking over the Don franchise now. He asked Don fans to show the new actor the same love shown to Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.

Unfortunately, fans are furious with the makers' decision of bringing the third installment without King Khan. Upset Shah Rukh Khan fans flooded Farhan Akhtar's post with messages. A user wrote, "We will never accept Don 3 without SRK. Another one commented, "How could someone destroy his own movie series 🤣🤣🤣". "The only reason we were demanding Don 3 was SRK.. if there's no SRK in it then what's the whole damn point? Please no thanks," wrote another one.

Who Will Play Don And Roma?
Ever since the announcement was made, Bolly buffs were wondering who will play Don and Roma in the third installment of the movie. Don and Roma play central characters in the film and are inseparable. A lot of fans assumed that actors Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani will be replacing Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in the new series.
