Panic Attack

In a layman language having anxiety means a person fearing that something bad is going to happen with her or any of her loved ones. While this can closely relate to having stress, some people may experience one or the other physical symptoms too, such as muscle contractions. It is important to note that there is a difference between anxiety attacks and panic attacks.

While anxiety comes due to some specific reason, perhaps because of reminiscing about any event or situation, a person can have panic attacks without any specifiable trigger. The common thing here is long term suffering if not taken care of in time.  Here are a few temporary tricks to help you cope up with such attacks!

Self-Soothe With Comedy

As you start breathing heavily remember that it’s not the end of the road. Make every effort to calm yourself down. The best and the easiest way to do so is by watching any of your favourite sit-coms or stand-up comedy shows. If for some reason you are experiencing frequent attacks, try having a few of these shows saved in your smartphones.

Because, even if your internet you are not working or there is some connectivity issue, knowing that you have easy access to the solution may also help you to calm down. Once you start getting hold of yourself, try prepping a soothing cup of tea. Best if it is herbal one.

Breathe Deeply

If you ever had a panic or an anxiety attack, you know you cannot control it. Yes, you do want to control it, but there are moments when a person makes the situation worst while attempting to remedy the situation. No matter if you are having an attack in public or in isolation, one thing you can always do is getting control over your breathing patterns.

While you are being restless, try remembering you need to take deep breaths. If possible try uttering the words such as ‘breath in’ and ‘breathe out’. This way you will be able to focus on your breathing pattern and may calm yourself down.

Remember A Mantra

Exercise

This is not a last-minute remedy. Here we are talking about a long-term solution, which can help you in getting hold of the situation in the long run.
