The amount of stress in today’s generation can be seen increasing rapidly nowadays. Be it exam stress, work from home stress, or getting all worked up about your health because of the current COVID-19 situation in the country. Be it any kind of stress, all you need to make sure is that you don’t stress eat. Often stress leads you on the path of unhealthy food choices which only makes you gain weight and cause health problems.  

In order to ensure you eat healthy, here are a few citrus food items which will not only help you destress but will also make sure that you give a healthy addition to your diet.

Citrus fruits such as oranges, male, and lemons are high in vitamin C and can reduce your stress levels. Along with it, these fruits can also give your immune system a boost, which is the need of the hour. Right from regulating your cortisol levels to controlling your blood pressure, citrus foods will save you during anxious moments. You must include lemonade, amla juice, or orange juice in your diet in order to increase your vitamin C intake.

A super tasty and easy to get fruit in summers is blackcurrant. These are rich in antioxidant flavonoids, also known as anthocyanins, which give them their dark bluish-black colour. 

Several studies have shown that those who eat foods rich in antioxidants like vitamin C and anthocyanins may experience less oxidative damage to their heart. You can either eat blackcurrants separately or use them as topping on your bowl of cornflakes. They can also be added to smoothies and go well with pancakes.

It is a rich source of fiber, vitamin K and potassium, which provides a long list of health benefits to the body. Kiwis are also linked to weight loss and improved vision.  

 

You can either eat raw kiwi or squeeze out its juice. The juice of kiwi can be mixed together with other fruit juices which will not only taste heavenly but will also provide an overload of nutrients to your body.
