Speaking about Bollywood horror movies inspired by real incidents, we have the 2018 film ‘Stree’ that terrified audiences with its storyline revolving around a malevolent female ghost who preys on men at night. This highly successful horror satire takes inspiration from the legend of Naale Ba in Karnataka. The folklore tells of a witch who would knock on doors during the night, disguising her voice as that of a person's family or friends to deceive them into opening the door. To ward off her wrath, the town's residents would write 'Nale Ba,' meaning 'come tomorrow,' as a means of protection. Moreover, part 2 of the movie is expected to release soon.
2. Ragini MMS
The highly controversial film revolves around the narrative of a couple embarking on a weekend retreat, only to find themselves caught in a life-altering encounter with the supernatural. Interestingly, this movie draws inspiration from the real-life encounter of a girl from Delhi.
