Dating is now simpler than ever thanks to the popularity of dating apps like Thursday, Bumble, and Tinder. As a result, we all have dating stories, some of which are quite magical while others may actually creep someone out.
We spoke with five women about their worst dating experiences, which made us cringe really badly. Continue scrolling to read them:
1. The Creepy Guy
“We were supposed to meet at a cafe after work, but my date was running really late, so I asked him to postpone the date. But he was a little pushy about it, so we ended up meeting near my office. But after only 15 minutes of our meeting, he approached me for a kiss. I was shocked and gently declined. Soon after, he said that he needs to return home. I was really creeped out and never went out with him again.”
-Sammy*, 25 years old
2. Disrespectful Maniac
“I met a guy in an arranged marriage meeting and while we were conversing he received a call. As soon as he received the call, he began abusing violently. When the phone cut off, I asked him who he was talking to and he replied that it was his labour and this is how he talks to them deliberately to keep them intimidated. His response shook me. He then offered me to have a cup of coffee with him, but I declined, saying that I was already full. After that, I left the place and blocked him from everywhere.”
-Tanya Malik, 30 years old
3. The Escapist
“We went on a lunch date and we were having a good time. When the bill was about to come, I went to pull out my wallet, but he asked that I let him pay this time and pay the next. I agreed, but when the bill did arrive, he looked at the amount and pretended that he had an urgent call and said that he will be back in 2 minutes. But he never showed up again. After waiting for another fifteen minutes, I paid the bill and left the place. Then I asked our mutual friend about him and she told me that he is playing cricket with his friends. I was so disappointed and never talked to him again.”
- Jyoti, 22 years old
4. The Guy Who Doesn’t Take No
“I went to meet a guy at a park and he was my first date ever so I was quite thrilled about it. But throughout the date, he only insisted on going back to his place and despite having a lunch plan he came in his pajamas. But because I didn't feel comfortable with the plan, I kept dodging it. When the date was finally over, I returned home exhausted and stopped returning his calls and texts, but he continued and eventually started bothering my friends. He found my friends from my Insta list and began asking them why I am not responding to him.”
- Namrata Ganguly, 26 years old
5. Pervert Alert
“Since I had known this man for a while, I felt comfortable going on a date with him at his home. But after a short while of speaking, out of nowhere, he came on to me. I was taken aback and didn’t know how to respond. I somehow managed to leave the place and afterwards ghosted him.”
